This gives rise<br \/>\nto questions about the factorisation properties of the Hilbert spaces on<br \/>\nboth sides of the correspondence.&nbsp; We review these issues and show how<br \/>\nthe Berry phase, a geometrical phase encoding information about<br \/>\ntopology, may be used to reveal similarities between the Hilbert space<br \/>\nstructure&nbsp; on both sides of the correspondence. Mathematical concepts<br \/>\nsuch as coadjoint orbits play an important role. In addition to its<br \/>\nrelevance for quantum gravity, this analysis also suggests how to<br \/>\nexperimentally realise the Berry phase and its relation to entanglement<br \/>\nin table-top experiments involving photons or electrons.
