The particle physics team is world-renowned for its important contributions to the study of the Standard Model, including precision calculations involving the electroweak interaction, quantum chromodynamics and the physics of the Higgs boson, and many of its hypothetical extensions such as supersymmetry, extra dimensions and theories describing the Higgs boson as a composite particle. Over the years, it has also developed world-renowned expertise in the study of theoretical models for dark matter.<\/p>\n

In the field of dark matter, LAPTh physicists were among the first to highlight the synergy between research at colliders and research in space.<\/p>\n
